Taras Daytime
Taras Daytime
[yellow tinted daylight lenses]
Named after Taras Shevchenko Place, the bold little street tucked into Manhattan's East Village that carries more character per square foot than most boulevards twice its size, the Taras frames make no apologies for taking up space.
Frame:
The oversized square silhouette is sculpted from thick, high-gloss bio-acetate in deep midnight black — substantial, architectural, and unapologetically bold. Wide temples taper elegantly toward the tips, giving the frame a cat-eye lift that adds a fierce, fashion-forward edge to the otherwise geometric shape. Blazing red lenses fill the generously proportioned frame wall to wall, creating a dramatic contrast that stops conversations mid-sentence. A small gold KUGO logo on the temple is the only embellishment needed — like a signature on a masterpiece. The Taras is not for blending in; it's for those who walk into a room and redefine it.

Lenses:
Long hours in front of a screen take a toll — especially in the afternoon, when eye fatigue peaks. KUGO's blue light reducing lenses are engineered to give your eyes meaningful relief without sacrificing the professional look you need throughout the workday. Lenses are superior to competitors, by offering double sided anti-reflex coating to cover you also from light coming from your backs. For yellow lenses Taras Daytime offers two options: Standard and Premium.
*reducing and not blocking as some of the other manufactureres, read more here on why it is important only to reduce and not block.
Standard lenses - the comfort first option. Our standard lenses filter/reduce 45–50% of blue light, delivering noticeable protection against digital eye strain. With a color temperature of 3,036K, the tint is distinctly warm but stays well within the range of a polished, office-appropriate appearance — so you look sharp while your eyes stay comfortable. Designed for 2 PM to 6 PM wear, these lenses are ideal for the hours when screen exposure tends to be heaviest. With a recommended wear duration of 6–8 hours, they're built for sustained daily use. Brightness transmission sits at 1,068 lux — perceptibly reduced, but workable in virtually any office or home environment. A quick note on fit: because the lenses carry a warm tone, they're not the right choice for color-critical tasks like photo editing or graphic design. For everything else — emails, spreadsheets, video calls, and deep work sessions — they're a reliable companion your eyes will thank you for. Best For: Heavy screen time with noticeable eye fatigue. #office_work #everyday_tasks #night_driving

Premium lenses - the smart work choice. Filtering/reducing 35–40% of blue light, these lenses offer steady, consistent protection that builds up over long hours of screen exposure. The color temperature of 3,282K sits in a warm-neutral range that preserves excellent color accuracy — with a color rendering index of Ra 71, what you see on screen stays true to life, making these lenses a confident choice even for moderately color-sensitive tasks. The standout quality here is discretion. With just a 10% reduction in brightness — translating to 1,147 lux of light transmission — the dimming effect is practically imperceptible. Enjoying the comfortable view and looking sharp and professional from 9 AM straight through to 5 PM. Rated for 8–12 hours of continuous wear, these are the lenses you put on with your morning coffee and forget about until you close the laptop. The protection is moderate by design — not aggressive — which makes them the ideal everyday lens for office environments, video calls, full-day screen work and gaming. Thanks to the blue light reducing properties are ideal also for night driving - reducing the strong lights coming from opposite cars, highlighting the road lines on the other hand. Best For: Full-day professional work with eye comfort. #professional_office_work #graphical_design #gaming #night_driving
